Linux Ubuntu

Ubuntu is the most popular Linux PC operating system. While Linux has become a very popular operating system on Servers, in recent years Ubuntu has become a very viable Linux desktop operating system. Linux Ubuntu is provided as a standard option (instead of Microsoft Windows) on PCs from many leading vendors, including Dell. Advantages over Windows include more efficient use of hardware, so that the same machine will usually run faster if Ubuntu is used in comparison to Windows Vista. Notebook computer battery life will often also be longer, since Ubuntu uses far less software code than Vista.
